Son of Dr.N. Babu Deekshithar and Smt. Rajalakshmi Babu Deekshithar

 

 

Hailing from one of the most revered families of Vedic Culture and Tradition, Brahmasri B. Damodhara Deekshithar studies under the tutelage of his father (Gurukula Vasa) , his Grandfather Brahmasri Narayana Deekshithar who studied under his elder brother Brahmasri Anantharama Deekshithar of Sengalipuram.

Soon after his Upanayanam (Sacred Thread Ceremony) in his 6th year, Gurukula Education started and continued for the next 14 years.

Experience

Since 1989, he has traveled extensively throughout the length and breadth of the Indian subcontinent giving religious discourses numbering more than 10,000 hours on various topics.

A Samrajya Pattabhishegam ceremony, Consecration of Lord Ram, required completion of 27 Ramayana Moola Parayana, complete recital of 4 Vedas and Homa sacrifice done by reciting 6 Lakh Rama Shadhaakshari Mantras after which Lord Rama is consecrated with holy water. Damodhara Deekshithar has conducted 8 such Samrajya Pattabhishegam so far.

He has conducted 150 Bhagavatha Parayana Sapthaham with Pravachanam and 100+ Ramayana Navaham with Pravachanam, apart from the Samrajya Pattabhishegam.

He has carried out Maha Rudra Abhishegams in the 12 Jyothirlingam, spanning between Rameshwaram and Kedarnath, twice. A Maha Rudra Abhishegam involves reciting 121 instances of Rudra Japa recitation, followed by abhishegam to the presiding deity with the holy water.

Likewise he has conducted twice in his leadership, the Athirudram, which involves 14,000 instances of Rudra Japa recitation followed by the abhishegam to the presiding deity with holy water.

In the year 2022, Damodhara Deekshithar has conducted Shri Bhuvaneshwari Pattabhishegam at Kamakya, Assam, after 9 day ritual involving parayanas, navaavarana pooja and homa.

Currently he has opened a Pravachana Patashala named, Jagath Kalyan Vidhyashram, in Srirangam, where he making the preparations to train the next generation of the skill of Upanyasa and the associated traditions.

Special Achievements

He has done Somayagam in 1997, a rare undertaking and since then he has been doing Agni Hothram – A holy ritual for the welfare of the society

He is the 33rd generation in his family lineage from Sengalipuram. He has conducted Somayagam without interruption in any generation which is a rare occurrence in Humankind’s History
